Our Study
Connecticut's coast provides food, jobs, and recreational activities. Yet, the coasts are under threat from pollution, altered land use, and climate change. Research has shown that informed citizens are more likely to protect a resource compared to citizens who have no knowledge of the topic. Teaching students coastal literacy will be vital for protection and conservation of the coastal resources in Connecticut.
How you can Help!
It all starts with you! We can't teach coastal literacy in high schools without passionate science teachers participating in our study! Sign up to participate now and you will be contacted by one of our researchers to see if your classroom is right for our study!
